The Apollo Club returns!

The Friends of Nahant Public Library invite the public to de-stress at the annual concert by popular men’s choral group, the Apollo Club, on Sunday, June 4 at 3:00. Their upbeat repertoire and smooth harmonies are guaranteed to bring smiles to audience members of all ages.

As the second-oldest men’s song group in the country, the Apollo Club of Boston is made up of business and professional men who have serenaded since 1871with folk songs, love songs, show tunes, sea chanteys and semi-classical music. The concert will close with the traditional singing of the “Nahant Hymn,” written in 1990 by Nahanters Susan Dineen and Robert Risch. The chorus performs under the able baton of conductor Steven Lipsitt.

The Friends of Nahant Public Library supports library programs and services. They also oversee the Building Fund, to be applied to the upkeep of the iconic library building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Admission to the Sunday afternoon concert will be by donation to the Friends of Nahant Public Library. Reservations are not required. Refreshments will be served following the show.
