Dr. Peter Foukal of Nahant has conducted research at CalTech and Harvard, has worked with NASA, and was awarded a NATO Fellowship at Nice Observatory, France. He has served on numerous government advisory panels and as a trustee of Wheelock College. He founded Cambridge Research and Instrumentation, Incorporated, a firm specializing in electro-optics that is now part of the Perkin Elmer Corporation.

Peter has authored over 120 scientific publications , including the college text titled, “Solar Astrophysics,” now in its third edition, and a children’s book about his family’s Newfoundland dog, entitled “Gus Meets the Queen.
